SUIT VS. TUXEDO

Often times people confuse tuxedo’s with suit. The primary difference between a suit and tuxedo is the presence of satin.

Tuxedo - Tuxedo’s will always have the presence of satin on the lapel, and/or pocket welts. A tuxedo may or may not have a full satin stripe going down the side of the pant.

Suit – Suit’s will not have any satin embellishments at all, a suit will be made of the same material for both jacket, pant and or vest, commonly made of wool, or synthetic fibers.

WHEN TO WEAR A SUIT OR TUXEDO.

Tuxedo’s are meant to be worn for a formal event or honorary celebrations, not for everyday corporate settings.

Suits – Typically work in corporate settings, and special occasions were clean professional looks are required.
